15, 2000 The new reign of terror....
Well
as many of you know the new grizzlies staff has been announced and as many
as you know I don't like it at all. Dick Versace is a total moron in my
opinion and I think him not being in basketball for like 8 years is a definate
red flag. Charles ("Chuck") Daly is to "old" I think to understand today's
players but he is only Special Consultant to the President so it doesn't
really matter. You know what though I kind of like Billy Knight I think
he will do ok and I think he was the only half decent person chosen for
the job's availible. Now onto who the new coach will be.... There has been
lots of people who have been so-called "intrested" in being the coach of
the Grizz including Lenny Wilkens I don't like that even though he is a
high profile coach he would want to give it down in the post every possension
and won't let the Grizz run. A name that has come up which I am all for
is Sacramento Kings assisistant coach Byron Scott (formaer Grizz player)
I think being a coach for the Kings tells you he will let Mike B and Mike
D run the floor so I definatley hope we get him. Sorry for not updating
for a while but keep on posting messages on the message board and I'm still
trying to get that interview with Mike Bibby right now.

9, 2000 Bye Stu.....
Stu
Jackson officially resigned as G.M of the Vancouver Grizzlies taking a
head office job with the NBA instead. Combined with the way Lionel
Hollins was fired (over the phone) it doesn't look like Reef will want
to stay. Earlier this year he was quoted as saying "If Stu goes I go" and
his agent said he wasn't pleased with the way Hollins was fired. Hopefully
Reef decides to saty but we grizz fans can only hope. :Mr. Heailey" has
a press confrence scheduled tomorrow where he is expected to announce his
new coaching staff. Have an a opinion you want to get off you chest?? Why
not post it on the message board where other Grizz fans can read it and
reply

6, 2000 First Round
Well
the first round of the playoff's are now over and I'll just give you my
comments on what I saw. Ok I don't like the Raptors that mush but when
I saw Larry Johnson bank in that 3 then make the LJ sign it made me sick
it is the stupidest thing I have ever seen, it should be outlawed like
the cut throat in football. Both the Kings and Sonics worked so hard to
get to the 5th and final game, Seatlle lost by a matter of inches (if Vin's
foot had been back a little that would have been a 3 and they could have
got gary to drive and knock in another 2 for the tie) and the Kings just
got blown away in there last game but they did better then anyone expected
them to do against the Lake Show. There was no real updates but I think
win Jason Kidd back that Suns have a shot at beating the Lakers and I think
the Blazers will beat the Jazz. In the East I like the Heat over the Knicks
and the 76ers with the upset over the Pacers. I'll update after every round
or if there is some more Grizz news I have a couple pics I'll add in a
couple days
April
23, 2000 Draft predictions
Sorry
I haven't updated in a while been real busy. Now that the nba playoffs
are underway it is time for us cellar dwellers it is time to decide who
we are going to pick. Now I know lots of people have different opinions
but mine is MARCUS FIZER the man is awesome. SLAM magazine had an article
on him here he said when he was 13 and 5"10 that he figured he wouldn't
grow much more so he better work on his outside game well his is now a
6"9 PF with SG skills and a huge build. He says he develops his game after
Karl Malone not his elbow throwin pick and rollin and rogaine using style
but
his bashing underneath and just abusing anyone who comes idiot who decides
to come into his paint. The are three other questions we need to ask before
the draft 1) Is Heisley going to destroy the team before the draft even
comes?? 2) What position will we get in the draft? 3) Will Fizer be around
when are pick comes? All those questions will can only be answered in time.....

12, 2000 Battle of the basement
The
Grizz played good, but Hughes played much better. Hughes scored 28pts ti
help can the Grizzlies. Dickerson had a great outing with 24pts. The Grizz
and Warriors were neck and neck until the fourth quarter where everything
fell apart. The Warriors started the final frame with a 14-0 run. warriors
sealed the game and came out on top 109-97. Bibby was locked up, despite
handing out 9 dimes and dropping 12pts. Reef led the Grizz with 23pts and
pulled down 13 boards. Hopefully the Grizz can pick it up in the home stretch,
they play the Suns on the 12th. An uphill battle in the valley of the sun.

April
10, 2000 Mike plays great in a loss
Mike
lead the way for the Grizz scoring 24 points dishing out 8 assist and only
getting 1 turnover which is great. Even though Bibby played good Duncan
and the Spurs played better the Grizz did play good UNTIL the 3rd quarter
where they fell apart letting the Spurs pull farther and farther ahead
with the final score being 107-99 Duncan scored 31 points and grabbed 11
rebounds. Other notable stats were Reef getting 23 points and 11 rebounds
and Michael Dickerson scoring 20 points. This Saturday there will be TONS
of stuff added to this page including games, wallpaper and other great
new sections so come back then and check them out.
April
7, 2000 Grizz play great again
The
Vancouver Grizzlies played one of there best games of the season yesterday
beating one of the best teams in the NBA the Portland Trailblazers 89-87.
Micheal Dickerson lead the way with 27 points and 4 rebounds Bibby added
15 points and 9 assist and Shareef was solid as usuall getting 19 points
grabbing 9 boards and dishing out 7 assist. It was a great game and Othella
Harrington came up with a HUGE block with 30 seconds left and the blazers
needing a basket. The Grizz played real tough and showed ALOT of heart
hopefully they can continue this for the last little bit of the season.
On a side note some of you might have noticed the Mike got injured with
like 4 mins left in the game but came back with 2 mins left team doctors
said it was nothing major and he will be playing in there next game which
is against the same blazers they beat yesterday.
April
5, 2000 WOW WHAT A GAME!
The
game was tied at 100 Mike Bibby got the ball with 5 seconds left turned
and face Steve Francis, (4 seconds) looks francis in the eye and then GONE
with one quick crossover to his right he shakes Francis, (2 seconds) he
drives the lane jumps looses the ball a little in the air (1 second), sort
of tips the ball off the backboard and in (zero) GRIZZ WIN GRIZZ WIN!!
Bibby with the game winning basket at the buzzer to finally get the grizzlies
there 20th win of the season. Mike had a great game scoring 27 points and
giving out 10 dimes Shareef added 21 points and 14 rebounds but the huge
thing is he played every minute of that game. When Bibby was asked about
his game winning shot after the game he had this to say "I knew as soon
as I got the ball that I wanted to take it to the basket" As of right now
the game winning basket highlite it unavalible for me but I should have
it in a day or so
I
will add some new graphics and sections tommorow so come back
April
2, 2000 TRIPLE-DOUBLE
Mike
Bibby with his first ever triple-double in his career he got 11 rebounds
11 assist and 14 points it was a Jason Kidd like effort by Mike today to
bad the rest of his team couldn't do anything. With yet another loss this
time to the Dallas Mavericks 100-86 with the only other grizzlie bright
spot coming from Shareef who scored a game high 23 points and grabbed 10
rebounds. But the story of the game was Mike Bibby who became only the
third grizzlie in history to record a triple-double the one downside was
his 6 tournovers but he is young he will learn. The Grizzlies next game
we will be hearing alot of boo's as Steve Francis come back to Vancouver
